Whyloom is an invite-only adult learning service operated by GPTAPPLIED PTY LTD (ABN 89 669 361 513), Level 2, 63 Dixon Street, Sydney NSW 2000, Australia.
This notice describes, in general terms, the personal information we handle during the private Alpha and the choices available to you.
Information we handle
- Account, sign-in, preference and security information.
- Learning selections, submitted answers, feedback and progress associated with your account.
- Limited technical information needed to deliver, secure and troubleshoot the service.
Why we handle it
We use this information to provide and improve Whyloom, authenticate you, evaluate submitted work, preserve your progress, respond to feedback, prevent abuse and keep the service secure.
Contracted providers help us with hosting, authentication, email, security and automated evaluation. We limit the information shared to what is needed for those purposes. We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising.
Overseas processing
Our providers and their subprocessors may process information outside Australia, including in Singapore, Japan, the United States and other locations covered by their current service arrangements. Overseas recipients may be subject to different laws.
We may also disclose information when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect people or the service.
Retention and your choices
We keep account and learning information while it is needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations or resolve a security issue. Provider backups and limited operational records expire under controlled schedules.
The Account and data page lets you download a readable copy of your account email, preferences, written or numeric responses, private activity confirmations and content reports. The download excludes Whyloom-generated feedback, progress, achievements, course content and internal identifiers. You can also permanently delete your account. This convenience download is not the only way to exercise your rights: you may also ask to access or correct personal information, or complain about our handling, by emailing privacy@whyloom.com.
Security, eligibility and changes
Whyloom is for people aged 18 or over. We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, but no system is perfectly secure.
We may update this notice as the Alpha changes. The date on this page identifies the version in effect. For privacy requests or suspected privacy and security incidents, email privacy@whyloom.com.
